We've been busy

So, sorry for not updating more recently. Remeber the bad hunch I had last time? It was simple - the hardware for #6 would be gone or broken before we would be able to get it.
It was. Someone plugged the amps in in reverse polarity and, well, they fried. Fancy that.

Adrian was released from hospital last week, but seems to have some kind of blood deficiency problem, explicitly stated to be something different from anemia. It seems to be an extremely rare condition and even rarer to appear after the age of twelve, so yeah, thank you  TPF, for fucking up Adrian's blood.
Brian, on the other hand, is still under psychiatric supervision, sufferring from some nocturnal anxiety syndrome. I'd say no shit, but this thing seems to baffle his doctors to no end. He asked us to get his charms and red string from his apartment. We knew it wouldn't do much good, but hey, it's reassuring a friend.
You might have already guessed what we encountered there.
They were gone. All the charms were gone and so was all the red string. On a hunch I checked the photo Brian made during the intrusion.

They were already gone by that time. This gives us some good news and some horrible news.

There is some merit to all those protective measures. That's the good news.
They can be easily removed by Slendy's puppets. That's the horrible news.

So we've been resupplying. And stashing our supplies at places away from our homes. Replanning everything, from #4, which I now will make twice, through #6 which requires hardware, #7 for which we'd need more manpower, Adrian's #8, and my new #9, which I will reveal only after I performed it.

The first three pranks worked because they weren't revealed beforehand. #4 was never employed because it was either it, or the Christmas gift #5, and I chose #5. Then I started giving details out. That's when everything started to go down the drain. So, new plan, new hiding places, new everything.

I've got another bad hunch, but I think we can turn it to our advantage.

As for the revelation of zero's return and some other things, I think I'll refer you to the the audio logs.

P.S.
Also, seriously, I found some people referencing me among the bloggers, but please, it's Maduin, not Maudin. Mad-ooh-in.

Heavy status

I'm not up for writing much. Most is up on the audio log.

Here's the skinny if you don't wanna bother.

Brian is traumatized, Adrian is hospitalized, I'm pissed. Somebody has free access to our homes.

I'm pissed.
...
Fuck.
Bad hunch!

Okay, not fun...

After work yesterday I found someone had been at my home - #4 is gone, notes on a potential #7 are gone.

For those interested #7 was to consist of confronting TPF with several varying fascimiles of itself, but I got a lot of ideas and perferred to commit them to paper. Now that has been either stolen or destroyed.

Point is, this was something of an "inside job" - there was no forced entry, no mess other than what I make of my home myself, and only these two things were gone - the box with #4, which was under my desk and the notes on #7, which were stashed between the pages of an encyclopedia. Or rather, of a volume of the encyclopedia. A volume occupying a shelf among shelves of books.

Strangely enough, The Mask is intact and I found it right where I left it.

The guys have mentioned ever more intense stalking and Brian said he had something to tell me about his encounter, while I can barely ever notice Slendy, always standing there in the distance.

This worries me.

I think we need to regroup.

I'll get back to you guys after I get in touch with Adrian and Brian.

Audio logs

I caved in.

From here on I'm using my tublr account for more than just following Dare2Die.
I'll set up the audio logs there. (Nothing on it yet, except the introduction - it won't let me upload more than one file at a time)

I hate tumblr.

In other news
I'm still looking for a presentable enough pineapple for #4, and I got the wire (couple of old hangers) and the colorful cloth, but I decide to forget the sparklers, wouldn't be too practical.
#6 is coming along just fine, since Brian has a friend, who has a friend (you know how these things work), that has a couple portable amps that don't suck that he's willing to lend. I'm going through the songs Broekchen suggested and I'm actually singing some of them.
It sounds horrible. Let's hope Slendy's afraid of cacophony.

On a personal note I have a bit of a fever and a cough (of Death, of course), and I hope I'll get better by monday morning, I do go to work, these pranks aren't going to fund themselves.

As for Robert's initiative of rallying forces - commendable, courageous and it might accomplish something, but be careful - the fact that Slender Man toys with Robert by bringing him back every time we lose him, doesn't mean he'll toy the same way with anybody else. Stay on your toes.

Stay safe, everyone,
Maduin the Jester.

It's been a while

Well, the last time I posted was last year.

Okay, things seem to be moving on all around, although not much seems to have changed thanks to Zero's plan it may help in the long run. I hope.

My 'Rock' has started rolling on its own accord and I daresay, needs no more prodding. I'm most interested how this will work out.

But back to local affairs - Adrian and I have visited Brian on the year's first weekend and I have to say, I probably never will see a room so multicultural - protective charms from almost every possible source, amongst them a very ornate Celtic Cross, a simple Ankh (although I can't fathom how a life symbol would be helpful), Fuda charms (Brian apparently found a the only Shinto priest in the city and had him put them up) and a piece of hay bound with red string. I approve, I use red string myself.
Too boot, he wears an old iron horseshoe under his clothes. I never imagined his neck would be able to support a horseshoe.
He theorizes, as some others have already, that TPF is something akin to a faery, and only ways to deal with faerys are either evasion, for wich it is too late anyway, and making a VERY good deal, which, I believe, is impossible to make with Slendy, since we have no leverage. So much for the folklore/mythology front.

In the meantime I decided to recreate prank #4 and start work on #6. Since the Christmas/Solstice season is over I'm gonna abandon the miniature Christmas tree in favour of a pineapple, also I'll require some thick wire (as in wire-fence thick wire, not ethernet thick wire) some colorful rags and maybe a few sparklers. Anybody who is going to ask what I intend to do with this, as Adrian has, doesn't understand that there's only so many things you can do with a pineapple and wire.
#6 is pretty straightforward, though, but I'll need some portable amplifying equipment and perhaps an adequate tracklist. Any suggestion on what to get for either of these? I've got no experience with sound equipment beyond headphones for my Iriver and speakers and headset for my PC. As for the music I will try some Christmas themed ones (I know it's post season, which made me alter #4, but still) which includes 'The Carol of the Old Ones', the Annie Lennox version of 'God rest ye Merry Gentlemen' and 'Tannenbaum'.
It's been a while since I sang that last one, so I might actually do.

Also, I've been considering starting up an audio log, just recording any thoughts or occurrences that I deem relevant. Would anyone be interested? Or perhaps suggest a place to put up the logs, since I doubt blogspot works well with audio files.

Stay safe,
Maduin

I need to get my mind off things, really.
These past few days I've been intercahngeably depressed and euphoric and depressed again. Some things that happenned in my past came back to haunt me, while some new hope for myself came up.
Then it shattered and reconstructed itself.
It's as if life is determined not to keep any constants for me.

Anyway, my point is, while I am trying to hide these swings from my friends, still some people notice.
Specifically, Adrian noticed, since he has been closely watching me for some times since his "infection". He thinks that this can be related to Slendy, but I sure hope not.

Adrian started, well, cooperating with me. He refuses to approach the Operator, but he wants to act as physical backup, because, as he puts it, he doesn't want to let me hurt myself. He wants to pummel the living daylights out of me "when this is all over".
Of course, "this" being over is VERY wishful thinking, but Adrian suggested we check on Brian and Clara, for how "deep" they are and to see if it's possible to, again as he puts it, "salvage anything".
Brian has "lost time" already, so he's probably past saving, but we can probably "compare notes". Clara, on the other hand, got over the Slendy memes, and currently reacts to mentions of them with "meh" and such.
Basically, she's somehow free.

And I lost prank #4 somewhere, and recreating it will take a while, what with the materials needed. Damn, I wonder whether if it'd have worked. We'll have to wait and see.

Anyway, I'm only a couple of hours away from a New Year's Eve Party with a bunch of nutcases that I'm proud to call friends, and I intend to have some damn good fun and I wish the same to everybody who's reading this.

Happy New Year and see you in the future.

The Grand Solstice Event

Here ends the Core Theory.
Or maybe it's just beginning.

Anyway, this is one last favour to a friend.
-------------------------------------------------------------
This is how it could have gone.

He stood in many places at once - the roof of an abandoned hospital, a silent crossroad at the edge of a small town, a forest clearing, the middle of a frozen lake, a top of small hill, the bottom of some spacious basement, a brightly lit mall. He stood there, waiting.
He stood in many places, just as he had many names - the Slenderman, Der Grosse Mann, Vysokiy, The Nightmare Man, Mr Suit...
He fed on their terror, their fears and insecurities, he made himself subliminally in many places - The Gentlemen, Struwwelpeter, Yahtzee's Tall Man, the Eldrazi, Jack Skellington. He made sure they'd know.
And now, they wanted to face him - confront him, the audacity of it, HURT him. Preposterous, hurt is what happens to other creatures, was it not?
Reality made itself certain, he was only in one place now, as destiny would have it. He watched with glee the two groups approaching him from the sides. They made no effort to communicate before the battle and this would be their downfall - when he knew they were within each other's line of sight, he made it happen.
Proxies, they call them, indoctrinated, agents, drones, maskies, but in most cases, they're just victims that are made to think you are the threat. And you are made to think they are the threat.
He does make some men his, but they weren't needed here.
The two groups charged each other and started fighting, both sides believeing they were attacking their great foe's minions. Easy. He'd just watch them slaughter themselves, feasting on the despair around them, and finish off what was left personally. That was the plan, simple and wonderful.
Then things went...wrong. Or right, depending of your point of view.
One man ignored the swarms of fighters and pushed on towards the Slenderman. A young man with a monster's face and a curved blade held in hand. A nothing, a bug to be stomped on.
The man with the blade ran at him, swinging with all his strenght. Easy.
He was grabbed by his arms immediately, or perhaps branches or tentacles, the world was not certain of that, and he was raised by him into the air while the man's organs were being slowly penetrated by Slenderman's extremities. The young warrior let out a scream of pain, followed by... a triumphant laugh?
Every fighter in front of them stood still, watching. Their voices spoke together.
"Zero", they said and the illusion, or whatever it was, wore off. Everybody there that night was there for Zero - he called them and each of them somehow knew him.
Easy, he thought again - he'd just will some of his true minions to the scene and watch as the people who no doubt would think that these "proxies" were also innocent victims get slaughtered by his slaves. And he did so.
But the drones never came, but loud and fast cracks and booms could be heard. Moans of dying came after them and into sight emerged half a dozen men wielding gunpowder powered weapons. They had no intention to fight him, it wasn't their task. Their task was to safeguard the battlefield and tell the tale.
They were somehow a... threat? He could feel it. He couldn't just get to them - the eyes of the fighters were fixed upon him.
He...became...enraged, perhaps. He tore through them, ripping off limbs and breaking the weaker minds with simple thoughts. Then, something absolutely and completely beyond his comprehension happenned. He felt something burst through what they would call his "chest". It was a simple, small, sharp piece of wood. He turned around and grabbed the...girl, yes, a girl, who shoved it through him.
"Not a vampire" she said "but was worth the try"
He was going to break her, when he felt...an impact on where his "knees" were. He turned again, dropping the girl.
"Granddad's iron crowbar, bitch!" said the boy beneath him.
Before he could act he felt a small bit of metal penetrate what would be his head. He pulled it out and watched it glimmer. It looked precious in a human way. He saw a young man holding what they called a revolver, with smoke coming out of the end.
The warriors safeguarding the perimeter were gone. He was annoyed by these attempts as more of the fighters started to attempt wounding him, as preposterous as it was.
He ripped them apart, everyone that came close, even if he did manage to hit, would die quickly and very painfully.
Some, somehow, managed to avoid him, after their attacks they'd back off, watch and flee.
Soon the battle ended, he was victorious, with his enemies, as ineffectual as they were dead or far away, and even those he would get to someday.
But the lingering feeling that they did not try everything and that someday they would, stayed with him.
That something would work, even more so.
-------------------------------------------------------------

Sorry if that felt wrong, but I love writing villain POVs.

Stay safe guys,
I'm okay, and will be even better later today.

Maduin

P.S.
Merry Christmas to all.
