Friday, April 1st, in the morning, Adrian found one last note concerning #8 - a note to watch a certain movie.
Or rather, the first note. The note which started the idea that we could do #8.
In the movie, which I do hope many of you have seen, the villain bears a very strong reseblance to Slender Man - tall, pale, always in formalwear, imposing, manipulative, controlling a group of highly unstable henchmen, having the ability to shapeshift his limbs.
In the end of the movie the villain loses his cool and breaks into a maniacal laughter with a horrible, shrill voice and is ultimately destroyed by a weapon he created himself.
It probably won't do the job, but I'm putting acetone, turpentine and benzene on my list of ingredients.
In keeping with the theory that TPF leaks through minds of people into public conciousness I took note of other appearances of Slendy-likes and noted their probable weak points (just in case, SPOILERS AHOY!):
Jack Skellington:
Conflicted with Santa Claus - points towards Broekchen's theory with Santa/Odin - ultimately foiled by his own misinterpretation of Christmas. Confronted a horrible villain when trying to restore the status quo.
Yahtzee's Tall Man:
Was once human, became a slender faceless abomination after an attempt to save his people from invaders went to hell. Is in fact a minion of a "higher" being, employs one masked, murderous minion and is a revered figure to a murderous cult clad in red hooded robes. Condemned to oblivion from day one of his unwilling servitude due to his arrogance, ultimately destroyed when he was replaced with a former victim.
The Gentlemen:
Floating, mute monsters, followed by degenerating humanlike minions. They rob people of their voices, because the sound of a human speaking is the one thing that can harm them.
Ulamog The Infinite Gyre and his brood lineage:
I'll quote, since my knowledge of the M:tG universe/multiverse is scarce, while bolding important bits.
"Ulamog, the "Infinite Gyre" is one of the three Eldrazi titans and the monstrosity whose half-forgotten name came to be known as the merfolk sea god Ula. It is emblematic of plague, the blind bonds between parasite and host, and overabundance. Ulamog is creation and destruction wrapped together in unholy harmony.
The Ulamog brood lineage is characterized by dense masses of suckerless tentacles, multiple withered arms bifurcated at the elbow, and most unsettling, eyeless bony plates in inhuman but vaguely facial forms. The ravenous and brutish Eldrazi of the Ulamog lineage lurch and shudder over the ground, adept at spreading disease and draining from the psyches as well as the life energy of their victims."
The Eldrazi were imprisoned in a single world, so as not to ravage the multiverse, since they were too powerful for the Planeswalkers to handle. In that world they made an entire race of undead their servants.
These examples and a few other strongly implicate extraplanar travel, mental infection, dominion over a group of "lesser" creatures, but only the Eldrazi exaple hints at invincibility and even that not so strongly (I can't tell relevant from irrelevant in the M:tG writing, sorry).
Almost always in a position of authority - judge, king, prince, god...
Always thwarted.
The brick is flying, let's do this.

We've been busy
So, sorry for not updating more recently. Remeber the bad hunch I had last time? It was simple - the hardware for #6 would be gone or broken before we would be able to get it.
It was. Someone plugged the amps in in reverse polarity and, well, they fried. Fancy that.
Adrian was released from hospital last week, but seems to have some kind of blood deficiency problem, explicitly stated to be something different from anemia. It seems to be an extremely rare condition and even rarer to appear after the age of twelve, so yeah, thank you TPF, for fucking up Adrian's blood.
Brian, on the other hand, is still under psychiatric supervision, sufferring from some nocturnal anxiety syndrome. I'd say no shit, but this thing seems to baffle his doctors to no end. He asked us to get his charms and red string from his apartment. We knew it wouldn't do much good, but hey, it's reassuring a friend.
You might have already guessed what we encountered there.
They were gone. All the charms were gone and so was all the red string. On a hunch I checked the photo Brian made during the intrusion.
They were already gone by that time. This gives us some good news and some horrible news.
There is some merit to all those protective measures. That's the good news.
They can be easily removed by Slendy's puppets. That's the horrible news.
So we've been resupplying. And stashing our supplies at places away from our homes. Replanning everything, from #4, which I now will make twice, through #6 which requires hardware, #7 for which we'd need more manpower, Adrian's #8, and my new #9, which I will reveal only after I performed it.
The first three pranks worked because they weren't revealed beforehand. #4 was never employed because it was either it, or the Christmas gift #5, and I chose #5. Then I started giving details out. That's when everything started to go down the drain. So, new plan, new hiding places, new everything.
I've got another bad hunch, but I think we can turn it to our advantage.
As for the revelation of zero's return and some other things, I think I'll refer you to the the audio logs.
P.S.
Also, seriously, I found some people referencing me among the bloggers, but please, it's Maduin, not Maudin. Mad-ooh-in.

Heavy status
I'm not up for writing much. Most is up on the audio log.
Here's the skinny if you don't wanna bother.
Brian is traumatized, Adrian is hospitalized, I'm pissed. Somebody has free access to our homes.
I'm pissed.
...
Fuck.
Bad hunch!

Okay, not fun...
After work yesterday I found someone had been at my home - #4 is gone, notes on a potential #7 are gone.
For those interested #7 was to consist of confronting TPF with several varying fascimiles of itself, but I got a lot of ideas and perferred to commit them to paper. Now that has been either stolen or destroyed.
Point is, this was something of an "inside job" - there was no forced entry, no mess other than what I make of my home myself, and only these two things were gone - the box with #4, which was under my desk and the notes on #7, which were stashed between the pages of an encyclopedia. Or rather, of a volume of the encyclopedia. A volume occupying a shelf among shelves of books.
Strangely enough, The Mask is intact and I found it right where I left it.
The guys have mentioned ever more intense stalking and Brian said he had something to tell me about his encounter, while I can barely ever notice Slendy, always standing there in the distance.
This worries me.
I think we need to regroup.
I'll get back to you guys after I get in touch with Adrian and Brian.

Audio logs
I caved in.
From here on I'm using my tublr account for more than just following Dare2Die.
I'll set up the audio logs there. (Nothing on it yet, except the introduction - it won't let me upload more than one file at a time)
I hate tumblr.
In other news
I'm still looking for a presentable enough pineapple for #4, and I got the wire (couple of old hangers) and the colorful cloth, but I decide to forget the sparklers, wouldn't be too practical.
#6 is coming along just fine, since Brian has a friend, who has a friend (you know how these things work), that has a couple portable amps that don't suck that he's willing to lend. I'm going through the songs Broekchen suggested and I'm actually singing some of them.
It sounds horrible. Let's hope Slendy's afraid of cacophony.
On a personal note I have a bit of a fever and a cough (of Death, of course), and I hope I'll get better by monday morning, I do go to work, these pranks aren't going to fund themselves.
As for Robert's initiative of rallying forces - commendable, courageous and it might accomplish something, but be careful - the fact that Slender Man toys with Robert by bringing him back every time we lose him, doesn't mean he'll toy the same way with anybody else. Stay on your toes.
Stay safe, everyone,
Maduin the Jester.

It's been a while
Well, the last time I posted was last year.
Okay, things seem to be moving on all around, although not much seems to have changed thanks to Zero's plan it may help in the long run. I hope.
My 'Rock' has started rolling on its own accord and I daresay, needs no more prodding. I'm most interested how this will work out.
But back to local affairs - Adrian and I have visited Brian on the year's first weekend and I have to say, I probably never will see a room so multicultural - protective charms from almost every possible source, amongst them a very ornate Celtic Cross, a simple Ankh (although I can't fathom how a life symbol would be helpful), Fuda charms (Brian apparently founda the only Shinto priest in the city and had him put them up) and a piece of hay bound with red string. I approve, I use red string myself.
Too boot, he wears an old iron horseshoe under his clothes. I never imagined his neck would be able to support a horseshoe.
He theorizes, as some others have already, that TPF is something akin to a faery, and only ways to deal with faerys are either evasion, for wich it is too late anyway, and making a VERY good deal, which, I believe, is impossible to make with Slendy, since we have no leverage. So much for the folklore/mythology front.
In the meantime I decided to recreate prank #4 and start work on #6. Since the Christmas/Solstice season is over I'm gonna abandon the miniature Christmas tree in favour of a pineapple, also I'll require some thick wire (as in wire-fence thick wire, not ethernet thick wire) some colorful rags and maybe a few sparklers. Anybody who is going to ask what I intend to do with this, as Adrian has, doesn't understand that there's only so many things you can do with a pineapple and wire.
#6 is pretty straightforward, though, but I'll need some portable amplifying equipment and perhaps an adequate tracklist. Any suggestion on what to get for either of these? I've got no experience with sound equipment beyond headphones for my Iriver and speakers and headset for my PC. As for the music I will try some Christmas themed ones (I know it's post season, which made me alter #4, but still) which includes 'The Carol of the Old Ones', the Annie Lennox version of 'God rest ye Merry Gentlemen' and 'Tannenbaum'.
It's been a while since I sang that last one, so I might actually do.
Also, I've been considering starting up an audio log, just recording any thoughts or occurrences that I deem relevant. Would anyone be interested? Or perhaps suggest a place to put up the logs, since I doubt blogspot works well with audio files.
Stay safe,
Maduin

Stay safe,
Maduin
